60 Anniversary
A performance titled "Dance, Landscape" was held at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver, Canada, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Canada. The venue was filled with over 3,000 attendees, including key Canadian government officials and members of the Korean community, leading to a sold-out event.
The dance troupe showcased a variety of traditional and contemporary dances, including “Taepeyongseongdae,” which depicted a royal court scene based on the Taepeyongmu of the Kang Sun-Young style, “Gyeol,” a dance highlighting the virtues of civil officials using hand clappers, and “Gyeok,” a dance inspired by swordplay to represent the spirit of warriors.
The graphics conveyed a desire for the beauty, tradition, and dance of Korea to spread throughout Vancouver.

"Korea and Canada, marking the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations, are forming an even stronger cooperative relationship through initiatives such as signing an MOU on key energy and youth exchange. At this crucial moment, as we look forward to the next 60 years, we feel both a sense of responsibility and pride that the Incheon Metropolitan Dance Company can contribute to national diplomacy as a cultural envoy. The enthusiastic applause from local audiences, including the Korean community in Canada, made us feel the two countries growing even closer."
